As Pharmacy Channel Supervisor, Fernando looks after the SUNSTAR GUM sales in the pharmacy channel Pharmacy is one of the four main sales channels in Argentina along with distributors, wholesalers and mass market. As a team, they develop the sales strategy to be implemented every quarter and follow up with each client to ensure that everything is going to plan.

Fernando first joined SUNSTAR in 2009; therefore, he has been working at the company for over 10 years. He started out as an Account Executive and his daily work and tasks gradually evolved over the years as the Argentinian pharmacy market opened up to groundbreaking promotional strategies.

Evolution in the company

Developing the strategy is, by far, what motivates Fernando the most in his daily job. He’s aware of how results-driven he must be and enjoys challenging himself to come up with the best strategy to reach the desired objectives. That became an even more significant challenge when he was promoted to Pharmacy Channel Supervisor in 2017 and started managing his own team. “I was used to planning and executing everything by myself, so when I was appointed Retail Sales Manager I had to learn how to listen to my team, how to motivate them and how to take a step back to let them grow professionally. That has been a huge challenge, but I’ve enjoyed every single part of it; I love working in Sales and being able to share my passion with my wonderful team”.

What’s his professional goal right now? Detecting potential brand weaknesses that stop specific clients from recognising SUNSTAR GUM as the dominant brand that it is.

What’s the best thing about SUNSTAR for Fernando? Humanity. “We come here to work, but also to have fun. If something doesn’t inspire me, I don’t do it, and, fortunately, SUNSTAR Argentina and its people inspire me every day. I also feel SUNSTAR is changing globally and moving in a great direction, something that I genuinely feel is worth celebrating”.
