Marc-Hervé Mandon
What are your hobbies?
I have a strong interest in the world and its history, so when I’m at home, I enjoy learning through videos, documentaries, and articles. When I travel, I draw on this knowledge to better understand the context, dynamics, and origins of the places I visit. One of my favorite ways to explore a destination is through its food. I keep a list of restaurants I would like to try, both in France and abroad, ranging from street food to fine dining. I’m also a music enthusiast and am often at concerts or festivals during the summer. In my free time, I also enjoy playing video games, and going for bike rides.
What was your first job?
My first job was a summer job at a hospital cafeteria. My first office job was as a retail panel manager, and my first job in marketing was as a product manager for cough & cold medicines at a French laboratory.
What inspired you to pursue your current career path?
I’m curious about the world and the people in it. Working in marketing requires us to understand consumers, as well as social and economic trends, and the drivers behind them. I also enjoy the creative side of the role, which involves building strong strategies and campaigns to effectively connect with consumers.
What fuels your passion at work?
There are always new things to learn and new ways to tackle challenges. Finding innovative solutions is both rewarding and intellectually stimulating.
What is the most valuable lesson you have learned?
Transparent communication with colleagues, partners, and clients is key to enabling everyone to move forward more smoothly.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Having played a role in a few projects within our subsidiary that helped GUM become the #1 Oral Care brand in pharmacy and parapharmacy channels in France.
What is your favorite thing about your career?
I have consistently developed new skills year after year, gaining a deeper understanding of key success factors across various projects, as well as a clearer view of how companies operate.
