The overall share of Japan increased slightly compared to 2015 due to exchange rate effects. Healthy sales growth was achieved in the Americas, Asia, and Europe mainly driven by strong demand for our Oral Care and Chemical products. Both new products and existing products contributed to this increase.
Our Oral Care business represents about half of the total Group net sales. In this sector, Europe and Asia were the strongest performance drivers profiting from new product launches in Europe and expansion of customer segments in Asia. Our Chemical business now accounts for 26% of total Group net sales and continues to benefit from strong sales of automotive adhesives to global automobile manufacturers, as well as construction sealants in Japan.
