■ Launch of ESG Committee
To accelerate sustainability initiatives across the Sunstar Group, we established an ESG Committee in August 2025. The ESG Committee is composed of global senior executives and managers from key functions and business areas. It leads to the formulation of strategies in each ESG field.
On October 1, 2025, the first meeting of the ESG Committee was held as a joint workshop with the Group Executive Committee. During the session, we reviewed external evaluations of our current sustainability performance and discussed overall policies and priority initiatives.

■ Evaluation by External Organizations
In response to requests from business partners, we have actively begun undergoing external evaluations of our sustainability performance.

■ Aiming to Develop Products with Lower Environmental Impact
Sunstar has made significant progress toward its goal of increasing the use rate of recycled and plant-based plastics in product containers and packaging materials to 25% by 2025. We exceeded this early, reaching 27% in 2024.This was mainly driven by expanding the use of plant-based plastics in bottles for mouthwash in Japan. By 2025, the adoption of plant-based plastics has been expanded to shampoo bottles.

Furthermore, plant-based plastics have been adopted for the plastics used in the handle of toothbrushes in Japan, Europe, and the Americas, as well as for interdental cleaning tools in Japan and the Americas.

In Europe and the Americas, efforts are also underway to replace toothbrush packaging materials made of plastic with paper and cellulose materials. For architectural sealants, we adopted recyclable plastic containers in 2025 that comply with container collection and recycling systems.

For motorcycle parts, we improved the brake performance of race-use brake discs, which reduced CO2 emissions by half. At the same time, we also enhanced brake pads, decreasing dust emissions by 15% and contributing to strong results in races throughout 2025.
